My niece and nephew invited us to brunch at The Higgins B&B. The home was fully decorated for the holidays. The table setting was just beautiful with the nicest decorations. Lisa, greeted us and welcomed us while we waited for the rest of the family to arrive. While we waited we started with Mimosa. Once seated, the fruit they served was fresh and delicious. We were just so impressed with the food choices: Omelettes (to your liking), grit, egg Benedict on croissant, sausage, bacon and I’m sure I left out something. We encourage you if you are in the area to visit The Higgins B & B and do ask Lisa to share her story behind The Higgins B & B.

The inn was exceptional in all aspects. Beautifully decorated, quiet gardens and sun porches, fabulous breakfasts and a lovely host. The park across the street was beautiful and downtown Sanford was easily walkable.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The location is perfect, historic neighborhood and walking distance to downtown Sanford. The inn is lovely and very comfortable. Best of all is the inn keeper. She was very gracious and her breakfasts were scrumptious. She even got up VERY early to prepare a take away snack and coffee to help us on our way to the airport. It was truly appreciated. We look forward to staying again some day.

We were looking for a place to stay the night before we took the Amtrak auto train home. This lovely B&B more than fit the bill. Our innkeeper, Lisa, provided a very comfy bed and beautiful surroundings. I enjoyed my complimentary wine out in the garden, while my husband took a nap. We easily walked into the historic section of Sanford and enjoyed a wonderful dinner at a restaurant that Lisa suggested. We returned for our complimentary nightcap! In the morning a sumptuous breakfast and the local newspaper awaited us. We will return next year!

Porch sitting has become a lost art almost everywhere, except here in Historic Sanford. Our porch has an old fashioned swing and wicker chairs where you can while away the afternoon and perhaps catch a glimpse of a wedding party in Centennial Park just across the street.
The Higgins House is four blocks from Sanford’s beautiful downtown. We are centrally located between Orlando and Daytona Beach, and Sanford’s attractions include many fine restaurants, antique shops, art galleries, a Performing Arts Center, the Central Florida Zoo, the Auto Train station and the Sanford-Orlando International Airport. For a special treat why not take a dinner cruise on the Barbara Lee Stern Wheel Paddle Boat! Other attractions, such as the Kennedy Space Center, the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse and Museum, Leu Gardens, and Blue Springs State Park, are an easy drive from Sanford.
